Even as the temperature hovered around 115 degrees in Iraq, our son Chris
ran a 10K race. He said, "My time was terrible, but I got a great T-Shirt out of
it". His competitive Spirit, strong leadership skills and love of life are why
we are organizing this race in his honor.
Chris loved Old Orchard Beach, Maine. His family and friends, coaches and
teachers were all very important to him. This race is our way to thank the
community for their love and support given to us every day.
Our hope is to have a family race day for young and old alike. We dedicate
this annual 5K race in Chris’ name and it’s with great pride to give a deserving
student a scholarship in our son’s name.
This race is founded by Nancy and Robert Kelley of Old Orchard
Beach, Maine.
